ISDC – International Security and Development Center is a non-profit academic institute based in Berlin, Germany. We conduct research to improve lives and livelihoods shaped by violent conflict, fragility, and humanitarian emergencies. ISDC is seeking a freelance
in Macroeconomics and/or International Economics
(part- or full-time, 2-3 months)
to conduct joint research on the economic costs of conflict, using macro-level data, supervised by the Director of ISDC.
- Cleaning, matching, documenting and analysing quantitative, country-level data
- Drafting a policy brief
- Conducting literature searches and reviews
Required experience and skills:
- A completed Masters degree in economics, data science, or a related discipline
- Excellent skills in statistical / econometric analysis in R, Stata, or similar software
- Excellent English writing and communication skills

The position is ideal for a doctoral student or a postdoctoral researcher, without restrictions on country of residence. Previous experience in international economics and conducting empirical research projects would be a huge advantage. The offered contract is on a freelance basis. Remuneration will be agreed individually.
