Drivers of Resilience and Food Security in North-east Nigeria: Learning from Micro Data in an Emergency Setting

In this report, the authors review and summarise robust evidence on the structural interrelations between food insecurity and conflict related to these topics. The empirical analysis uses baseline and endline survey data provided by FAO to analyse the short-term impacts of the FAO programme in North-east Nigeria. Specifically, the authors study the short-term impacts of the FAO programme on food security and resilience, how conflict exposure affects these impacts, how resilience is related food security, and how the programme affected perceptions of conflicts and security within communities. Based on the results, the authors derive recommendations of how the design, impact and evaluation of policy interventions in crisis settings could be strengthened.
