Asees Mohamed Shareef

Dr. Asees Mohamed Shareef is a Researcher at ISDC and a Philipp Schwartz Fellow. His research interests include internally displaced persons (IDPs), forced migration, international politics and international relations.

Asees’s past projects include research on national unity and reconciliation among university students in Sri Lanka. Previously, he was a Lecturer at the University of Colombo and an Advisor at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka. Asees is also a guest lecturer at Doha Graduate School in Qatar.

Asees holds a BA (Hon’s) Special in Political Science from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka, a MA in International Cooperation Studies from the Graduate School of International Development at Nagoya University in Japan and a PhD in Global Studies from the Graduate School of Global Studies at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan.
