Jessie Ruth Schleypen is a research affiliate at ISDC, a doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Life Sciences, Humboldt University of Berlin, and a senior climate change and development economist at Climate Analytics gGmbH. Her work focuses on quantitative assessments of climate change impacts on socioeconomic development and adaptation behaviour. She has published peer-reviewed papers in World Development and Spatial Economic Analysis journals; as well as reports for the UNDP, UNESCAP, and the Federal Environment Agency of Germany (Umweltbundesamt). Prior to her relocation to Berlin, she was a senior economist at the National Economic and Development Authority of the Philippines. She holds two master’s degrees in International and Development Economics from HTW-Berlin and the University of the Philippines, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from the University of the Philippines.
