What should we do when projects fail?
To gloss over mistakes can be enticing. There is an incentive to ignore mistakes, especially when the political or social context is regards economic development cooperation sceptically. Despite that, there is large potential to increase effectiveness through open analysis.
In this webinar, BRAC Europe and ISDC present possibilities to better handle mistakes. The center of the event is the recent BRAC Failure Report, from which co-author Kazi Ashfaqul will give unusual insights into past BRAC’s past mistakes and their learnings. ISDC Director Tilman Brück will contribute his expertise.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion around the following themes:
- How can we encourage an open culture of mistakes?
- Which approaches exist in the institutions that are present?
- When do transparency and impact measurement result in more effective development approaches?
