To join our growing, international team, we are looking for a 

Researcher (f/m/d)

(full-time –  40 hours per week)

for our Behavior Research Program, starting at the earliest possible date. The position may entail the possibility to pursue a PhD at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, if the candidate meets formal requirements and is interested.

The Behavior Program analyzes how people, households and groups cope with major shocks to lives and livelihoods. We study how experiencing these shocks shapes choices, preferences and coping strategies, and contributes to wellbeing at the individual and household levels, as well as how they aggregate through society as a whole.

Your responsibilities:

  • Managing and analyzing micro-level data using advanced econometric techniques;
  • Contributing to converting research findings to publications for leading academic journals;
  • Supporting research projects for a variety of donor organizations;
  • Assisting fundraising through designing new research projects and proposal writing;
  • Contributing to dissemination and project management; and
  • Completing a PhD thesis, if suitably qualified and interested.

We think you would be a match if you: 

  • Have an excellent Master’s degree in a quantitative social science;
  • Bring strong skills in statistical / econometric analysis in R, Stata, or similar software; 
  • Have past experience working in and on fragile and conflict-affected settings; 
  • A proactive attitude and approach to conducting research across several projects; and
  • Excellent written and oral English-language communication skills.
