Isabella Urbano-Trujillo

Isabella Urbano-Trujillo is a Junior Researcher in the Welfare Research Program at ISDC, where she previously worked as a Research Assistant alongside her graduate studies. Her work applies quantitative methods to evaluate welfare, food security, and resilience in fragile contexts.

She holds a Master’s degree in Data Science for Public Policy from the Hertie School, where she specialised in machine learning, environmental economics, and climate policy. She also holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from Javeriana University in Colombia.

Alongside her role at ISDC, Isabella is a Teaching Assistant at the Hertie School for the graduate courses “Economics I” and “Economics II: Economics and the Environment”. She has over five years of experience in applied research and consulting, having worked as a Junior Researcher at CoreWoman on projects focused on women’s economic empowerment in the global south, as a Data Visualisation Consultant for a project with Alliance Bioversity & CIAT, and as a Data and Research Assistant at the Applied Economics Lab of Javeriana University.
