Andrea is Senior Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Milan-Bicocca. He is also an invited researcher at Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL), and affiliated with the Laboratory for Effective Anti-poverty Policies (LEAP) and the Trinity Impact Evaluation unit (TIME).
Andrea is a development economist and most of his studies rely on an experimental design. His research interests include health, education, and the targeting of social programs. Andreas has led multiple impact evaluations across Africa and Asia and his work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals, including American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Nature Medicine, and World Development.
Before joining the University of Milan-Bicocca, Andrea was (tenured) Assistant Professor of Economics at Trinity College Dublin. He has also worked as a consultant for the World Bank and the European Commission. Andrea holds a PhD in Economics from KU Leuven and a MSc and BSc in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University.
