About Fragile Lives
Every year Fragile Lives brings together experts on using rigorous, scientific evidence to inform interventions in fragile, conflict-affected, and underdeveloped settings in cooperation with between ISDC, the Zero Hunger Lab of Humboldt University of Berlin, and the Leibniz Institute of Vegetables and Ornamental Crops (IGZ), alongside the House in Conflict Network (HiCN). The conference is guided by three pillars: lives and livelihoods, peace and prosperity, and achieving zero hunger, which have kept its research platform at the cutting edge of conflict and fragility studies.
What to Expect from 2026
Fragile Lives 2026 will welcome two keynote speakers: Caitriona Dowd, Assistant Professor in the School of Politics and International Relations (SPIRe) at University College Dublin, and Juan Vargas, Professor of Political Economy at the University of Turin and Carlo Alberto Chair at the Collegio Carlo Alberto.
