Dr. Ayşegül Kayaoğlu is a ISDC Research Affiliate, an Associate Professor of Economics at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Turkey, and a Research Associate at the Economic Research Forum (ERF), Egypt. Her main research interests are impact evaluation, applied development economics, migration economics, labor economics, and informal institutions. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals including World Development, Journal of African Economies, Defence and Peace Economics, and Journal of Immigrant and Refugee Studies.
She has also worked as a consultant for the World Bank, UNICEF, Save the Children, and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions. She studied business administration at Bogazici University in Istanbul and MSc in Economics at the Birkbeck College in London with Chevening Scholarship. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics as part of the European Doctoral Program in Quantitative Economics during which she studied both at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL), Belgium, and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), United Kingdom.
