Measuring Food System Resilience in Sudan

Project Background

COSA and ISDC are collaborating to assess the efficacy of Agile tools and methods in gathering resilience data within fragile agropastoral contexts, as part of a larger project implemented by IFAD in Sudan (SNRLP Sudan). To enhance the understanding of how food systems respond to shocks and to inform public policy that can strengthen their capacity to manage such crises, this project aims to develop an analytical framework specifically tailored to measure food system resilience in fragile situations, using Sudan as a case study.

Project Objectives

The primary goal of this partnership is to enhance the resilience survey tools specifically tailored for fragile contexts. ISDC’s vast experience in working within fragile contexts is essential for attaining this objective. The partnership will also assess the effectiveness of Agile technologies in capturing high-quality data. This becomes particularly crucial in situations where traditional data collection methods are rendered impractical due to ongoing conflicts within the country. Through this collaboration, the organisations aim to contribute valuable insights and innovations to advance data collection practices in challenging environments, ultimately supporting more robust and adaptable approaches to resilience assessment.
